Horses
Dolce De Leche
“Dolce de Leche” aka Dolce is our drop-dead gorgeous Palamino Paint mare who turns heads wherever she goes! She is a super laid-back girl who enjoys taking her time. Dolce is known for her exceptionally smooth gaits. She is as smooth as silk and frequently mistaken for a gaited horse! She is the perfect horse for anyone learning how to ride bareback. Dolce comes with power steering as she can neck rein and direct rein! Dolce is, what we affectionately like to call, an expert-level snacker. She loves trying to snack on the green grass or passing leaves while trail riding even though we keep asking her to drop this naughty habit. This year Dolce hits Hollywood as she will star in her first movie ever. Overall Dolce is an awesome riding horse with three solid gaits and easy peezy transitions. Dolce accepts all forms of treats whether it’s cookies, carrots, apples, or horse treats.
Cody
Cody is a total gentleman both on the ground and under the saddle. He is a black 20-year-old Quarter Horse gelding with a heart of gold. You know what they say- with age comes wisdom! He is our go-to, autopilot deluxe who takes excellent care of both adult and children riders! Out on the trails, Cody means business. He is so well behaved that, unlike most horses, he doesn’t even try to sneak a snack when you’re not paying attention! His favorite part of the trail is leading the way down the Huron River. He loves getting his feet wet and posing handsomely for pictures. Cody came to us from an Amish family who used to drive him to the grocery store and back. We love Cody so be sure to bring him lots of carrots and apples for after your ride!
Thor
Thor is our handsome, steady-eddie Draft cross gelding who is a crowd favorite! He stands a solid 16.2hh and is a Clydesdale Quarter Horse cross. Most people will need the step-stool to get on top of Thor, but he is an exceptionally patient boy and stands like a pro to be mounted. Given his size, he is usually the first pick for the husband-type rider, but he has proven himself super safe for even the smallest, most timid riders. He is an exceptionally kind, laid-back boy who truly enjoys taking his time. He usually likes to hang out towards the back of the trail ride enjoying the scenery. Thor is such a sweet-natured boy we don’t believe he actually knows how to misbehave. He originally came to us from the Amish, who don’t ever feed their horses treats, but ever since he has been part of the High Vibes team he is now a treat connoisseur.
Val
Val is our farm’s gentle giant! She is a 17hh Belgian mare, making her the biggest horse on the property. You’ll probably need a mounting block to get up on her back but she is as kind and gentle as they come. Val originally came from an Amish family who formerly used her as a driving horse to get around town. Unfortunately Val was too slow for them, but she is the perfect speed for us! Their loss is our gain! She is very easy going and enjoys taking her time out on the trails. She’s got one speed and it’s slow and steady. Val usually likes to hang out at the back of ride so you might have to give her a few kicks here and there. She loves attention, grooming and hugs! Have you hugged a giant today ?!
Memphis
Memphis is THEE total package!! She is a gorgeous buckskin Quarter Horse mare with a puppy dog personality. Memphis absolutely loves people and attention so much that she is the first horse to greet you at her pasture and will literally follow you all around. If it were up to her she would just curl up and sit right in your lap if she could. Not only is she drop-dead gorgeous and super friendly, she’s also an incredibly smooth ride! Memphis is an awesome trail horse and has no problem being a guide horse and leading the group or hanging out with the guests in the back. She is a super sweet, affectionate girl with only the best intentions at heart. She was born and raised in Tennessee and we feel so lucky and blessed to have her here in Michigan now. Make sure to bring her some apples for the end of your ride.
Kahlua
Kahlua is an exotically colored Grulla paint mare that is 13 years old and has been trail-ridden her entire life. She is a tried and true, seasoned trail professional who will babysit any level rider. On her days off Kahlua enjoys laying down and soaking up the sun. She is just as sweet and gentle as they come. Kahlua is the perfect size at 14.3hh tall - not too big & not too small. Sometimes she ponies around the smaller kids and sometimes she is the fearless leader of the group. Kahlua is a dream to ride bareback and also happens to be our trail guide Sarah’s favorite horse on the farm. Kahlua always whinnies and nickers when she sees Sarah coming up to her gate because she always spoils her with extra treats and massages.
Cupcake
Cupcake aka “the cupster” is our world famous Haflinger pony, worth her weight in gold. She is the ultimate kid’s trail riding unicorn that will babysit anyone who sits on her back. Cupcake is as reliable and trustworthy as they come. She is 15 years old and stands a very stocky 13.3hh. She is our go-to kids horse for our smaller, first time riders. Cupcake is unshakable out on trails and also loves giving pony rides at birthday parties. Cupcake enjoyed quarantine a little bit too much and gained a couple extra pounds so we had to loosen her girth strap 2 holes! It goes without saying that Cupcake loves her treats too!
Amante
Amante is our tried and true gentleman who has been taking out trail rides with us for over 8 years now. Amante is a beautiful Andalusian Quarter Horse cross gelding who stands a stocky 15hh. He has done everything from camping trips up north to being shown and placed in hunter-jumper competitions. Amante used to be a striking dark, dappled steel grey color but now in his teenage years, he is as white as snow !! Amante is an excellent riding horse who is responsive, kind, and willing. He is ultra-smooth and is a dream to ride bareback. Although he is a horse, he wishes he was a fish! Amante absolutely loves splashing in the river and on hot days he will try to go swimming in his water trough. Amante is certainly smarter than the average bear! He knows how to untie himself, open gates and break into the barn to get into the grain bin. Even though he can be a little mischievous in his efforts to find tasty snacks, we love him to the moon and back for always taking excellent care of his rider.
